Tales from the Qrypt – Mark Prt 3

The following day Mark showed up right on time to take me shopping as promised. He seemed pretty excited and some of his excitement rubbed off on me, suddenly I was looking forward to a shopping expedition. Shopping just for the hell of it was not something I usually did.  We spent the rest of the morning picking out pieces and arguing over what suited me best.  Mark charmed all of the women in the boutiques we shopped at,  I think he enjoyed the shopping more than I did! Afterward, we had a leisurely late lunch at his friend’s restaurant and talked way into the evening.

It became routine for us to have coffee or lunch during the daytime and then go out for drinks and dinner in the evenings. I enjoyed Mark’s company, he was funny and he sang whenever he was happy which I found truly adorable! I was making plans to leave the island and when I finally told Mark one evening during dinner, he immediately had this insane idea that we should rent a cottage on the beach for the next few days. He wanted us to spend the rest of my time on the island together; we would do nothing but sleep in, go to the beach, eat out, and enjoy each other’s company. I was instantly on board!

The following afternoon we drove out to a delightful little vacation cottage on the beach. It was small but comfortably furnished with every modern convenience. The tiny kitchen even boasted a cappuccino machine and a wine chiller! The spacious sundeck with its luxurious loungers was ideal for outdoor living and the sea was just a few short steps across the powdery white sand.

I immediately stripped down to my swimsuit and helped Mark unpack the goodies we had picked up at the supermarket deli. It was time for sun-downers!  I assembled cheese, crackers, and fruit as Mark opened a chilled bottle of wine. When everything was ready we headed outside and Mark pulled me down to sit in his lap. The sun gradually slipped below the horizon in a glorious blaze of color as we took our first sips of the deliciously crisp white wine. What more could a girl asked for? life was perfect!
