With two weeks to go before I begin my 2020 Bucket List Adventure, I’m very distracted! My friend Lyn has already booked us an all-day tour with GetYourGuide which pretty much takes care of the last remaining detail. I am still looking at other options but, I’ll wait to see how knackered we are from that full day tour before deciding on another. We really love the GetYourGuide tours, our first experience using them in Lisbon last year was so worth it! We were able to see all of the sights with the option of hopping off to get a closer look at some of the monuments and museums before hopping unto another tour bus.

Yes, I know that we are experiencing the ‘second wave’ of the pandemic. Between me and you, I don’t quite know what that means. Is it now the ‘second wave’ because there are outbreaks in locales that did not previously have any cases? I’ve no idea! What I do know is that we must continue to be careful. Careful means washing our hands often, wearing masks, and staying the required distance apart.  How difficult is that?
The Show Must Go On
Despite the foregoing, life must go on. That is to say that those bitten by the travel bug like I am, will try as much as possible to continue exploring amazing destinations! I promised myself years ago that I’ll have a grand adventure each year as a birthday present to myself. Each time I see a beautiful photo or read a fascinating story about a country I haven’t yet visited, I add to my list. Those places on my bucket list are whispering in my ear and I dream of my next big adventure. As this year’s birthday present, I carefully picked a destination with relatively low infection rates. Now I’m anxiously watching the travel alerts and keeping my fingers crossed in the hope that I won’t have to cancel my travel plans.
Are Men Losing Their Mojo?
Did you know that men no longer date? I compared notes with a friend recently who met someone on a dating site a year ago. He calls or messages her almost every day yet he never invites her out on a date! In my case, I had ONE in-person meeting with a guy I’ve been talking to for the past 7 months. Is this a new phenomenon? men no longer invite women out on dates? and are women expected to do the chasing then?
While I personally have no issue with being the one to chase, I do have difficulty dealing with mixed signals. Either you want us to have a relationship or you don’t! and if you do want to get together surely you know that we can never progress past the getting-to-know-you stage unless we actually get to know each other?
