Anything Interesting On Your Bucket List?

I must confess that I feel so darn smug whenever I predict something and it actually happens! I know that the smugness can be super annoying but I can’t help saying ‘I told you so’ more than once. Well, guess what? it’s happened again! as soon as travel bans were lifted folks were off! I told you so! Back in June my post Where to Next? recommended booking early while the tickets were still pretty reasonably priced. Well if you had listened to me, you’d know that if you didn’t use them, those tickets will be valid until next year June and change fees will be waived.

If you ignored me (and everyone else) don’t worry, it’s not too late.

Prices are slowly climbing but you can still book now while the offer is still open. More destinations will re-opened for international travel by next month. Even if you opt to stay within your country’s borders, reduced rates abound so take advantage of this golden opportunity. Check yourself into a great resort or hotel or indulge in an experience that you have always meant to try but somehow figured you had time to do that later.

In case you haven’t yet gotten the news, you don’t have time to do anything later. Time is elusive, no one has it and no one ever will so just do whatever is on your bucket list now. Don’t give me the pleasure of saying ‘I told you so’ again!

So what’s on your bucket list?

Recently I saw quite a few cruise deals, I had planned to go on a cruise last Christmas but I dillydallied until it was too late. Silly me right? While I confess to being quite leery about going on a cruise right this instant, the prices are so low that it’s worth considering. It is possible to make a down payment now and wait to see how it pans out for a trip next year. Even if you don’t feel comfortable or safe enough to do it next year, you can save the credit towards a future trip. Cruise lines will be reluctant to reimburse you but will reward you for allowing them to keep your down payment (by giving you free gratuities and other stuff).

You can never be too careful.

During my recent travels from Antigua to the US in early July, I was very careful to keep my hands in my pockets to avoid touching too many surfaces. I kept my mask on the entire time and only lifted it to sip water occasionally. I asked to change seats in the aircraft when the passenger sitting directly in front of me reclined his seat. He fell asleep and proceeded to snore while his ill-fitted mask billowed out from his face with every grunt.

When I finally arrived, I showered and washed my hair before I even greeted my family. They were a little taken aback but, if someone had gotten sick after my arrival I would have blamed myself.

Having said all that, if you do decide to cross off another destination on your bucket list, do have a wonderful and safe trip. If these tips helped you in any way, do remember to let me know in the comments below.
