The Goodbye

We are all very cognizant of the fact that death is inevitable, but we somehow manage to hide it away in some dark recess of our minds. This deep dark place where we hide death is very far removed from our every day life; so much so that we never prepare ourselves for its appearance. Death will come, it will claim me, you, our loved ones and acquaintances.

He loved to joke around, tell funny stories, sing karaoke, play soccer and he absolutely loved my sister.

Two days ago I lost someone I’ve known since I was about 12 years old. He was an amicable, funny guy – sometimes inappropriately so! I seem to remember several instances of my sister saying “Stan shush!” in the middle of one of his stories because she knew exactly where it was going since she’d heard it several times before. He loved to joke around, tell funny stories, sing karaoke, play soccer and he absolutely loved my sister. They were married for the past 30 years and were very much in love with each other up until the day he died.

Nicole’s Story Prt 6

Nicole spent a lot of time with Paul over the next few weeks. She learned that Paul’s mom had been very young when she became pregnant after a brief fling with Paul Senior. She’d left Paul with his dad when he was only a year old, and returned to Puerto Rico where she was from. Paul’s aunt Ivy, his dad’s older sister, had brought him up. She was a spry white-haired woman in her 70s who lived alone in a small apartment just across the street. Paul’s dad had never married, choosing instead to immerse himself in his work.

When her classes started, Nicole felt as though there were so many things to do but so little time to do it all. She lived for the evenings when she could finally see Paul. They would meet for coffee most days before she had to dash off to her dance class with Cindy. Some evenings when she didn’t have a class he would take her out to dinner. On weekends they would go for long drives to some of his favorite places and after a month of his company, Nicole was beginning to fall in love.

Is Your Sexual Health Ruining Your Relationship?

In my mid-thirties I was in a long-term relationship with someone who enjoyed sex as much as the other man but somehow seemed to forget it existed unless I reminded him. In some cases, he would outright say no when I begin to put moves on him (and believe me, I’ve got moves!). I would climb on top of him and begin to undress him (he’s the kind of man who sleeps in neatly ironed cotton boxers and pristine white t-shirts).

He would laughingly resist me as I undress him. I would shut him up by kissing him – he loves to be kissed and I would kiss my way down the side of his neck to his chest then suck his nipples. That’s about when he would forget why he was resisting the hot lovemaking that was about to go down!
